Hunter-Killer is a series from Top Cow Productions, written by Mark Waid and penciled by Marc Silvestri for the first story arc.

During the Cold War, there were worries that a nuclear war would destroy the world. So, the US government began a project to create living super-weapons. These beings were referred to as ‘Ultra Sapiens’. But they were not living weapons. There was a breakout. Most of the Ultra Sapiens went underground, hiding their gifts. Some went back to work for the government, tracking their rogue brethren and dealing with ’situations’. But something else was created by the project, capable of tracking and neutralising any Ultra Sapiens, anywhere. No-one knows what it is, what it looks like, or where it is. However, a married couple in rural Wyoming might have some ideas, and their gifted twenty-year-old son would be very surprised at the answer…

Danger Girl - Collection

Danger Girl is a wonderful world of action and adventure told through beautiful artwork and a story that is just plain fun. It follows adventurer Abby Chase as she is recruited into the female secret agent team known as Team Danger Girl in their attempts to stop an evil terrorist threat to the world from a neo-fascist organization called The Hammer Empire. This trade collects the first and really only good Danger Girl story as most of the one-shots that followed where done by different artists and were not up to par.
Like all the Image books of the 90's, most people paid attention to Danger Girl because of J. Scott Campbell's artwork as he was already famous from the comic Gen 13. But unlike previous Image comics that relied on art, Danger Girl and the other Cliffhanger Comics, Battle Chasers and Crimson, actually had a story that was bearable to read.
Danger Girl is heavily influenced by Campbell's love for the movies, and fortunately his love for downright entertaining movies such as Indiana Jones and Back to the Future. While the story resembles Charlie's Angels, True Lies, or a James Bond film more, it holds the feel of all those entertaining and fun adventure and spy movies by not taking itself too seriously.
A particularly enjoyable element to the comic is the "Previously in the pages of Danger Girl" page that begins each issue of Danger Girl. In just one page, the creators recap the last issue, throw in some funny captions, and always use a "cliffhanger" by warning of our heroes' "apparent DOOM!" These recaps have the campy feel of old TV shows like Bullwinkle and the Adam West Batman when they would preview the next episode.
What adds to the story-telling is Campbell's artistic style that is influenced by animation which gives the characters movement and expression rather than just magazine poses. Campbell also uses many widescreen panels along with well-timed close ups to show that he really had the cinematography of the story in mind when creating Danger Girl to make it feel like an action movie.
The weakest part of Danger Girl: The Ultimate Collection is the 5 page sketchbook in the back. It is interesting to see some inner-workings of Campbell's art, but it is not nearly enough for fans of his work. These sketches and many others can be found in "J. Scott Campbell's Danger Girl Sketchbook."
All in all, Danger Girl is a fun comic that strays away from the superhero theme and actually puts a little comedy into a "comic" book. The art is great and the story is entertaining. Take Danger Girl for what it is and don't take it too serious because it doesn't take itself that serious.

Midnight Nation

Joe Straczynski's Allegorical Comic Book

Midnight Nation is a 12-issue series published under the Joe's Comics imprint by Top Cow Comics, a division of Image Comics. An Issue 1/2 is also available.

The main character, Police Detective David Grey, finds himself in a world of people who have slipped between the cracks. These are the ignored, forgotten, and dispossessed people that society neglects. They eventually realize that nobody can see them anymore. These forgotten people share the same world with us, but they can only interact with things that have been discarded or forgotten. David Grey's reason for being in this world is far more sinister, and a mysterious woman named Laurel guides him on a quest to reclaim his stolen soul.

Midnight Nation is a more allegorical story than Rising Stars. It makes readers think about how people treat others and how they are responsible for their own actions... or inaction.

The entire story has been collected in a single volume which was released on 15 January 2003.

Small Gods

Small Gods is not about the future, but about a parallel present, where psionic powers became a known quantity in 1% of the population, and the story explores how that has changed society, specifically how it has affected law enforcement. The approach, focusing in on one specific precog, reads like a blend of the best elements of Minority Report and The Shield, and the grayscale artwork is gorgeous, good enough that even you color snobs out there out to take a look and give it a chance to impress.

The Darkness - Top Cow Productions

The Darkness is a series of comics produced by Top Cow Productions (TCP). The comic first appeared in 1996 and enjoyed an initial period of relative success during the TCP/Image Comics boom of the late 1990s. However, TCP were forced to "relaunch" the comic in 2002 after sales began to drop. The comic has sold over 1 million copies worldwide. The series was created by Marc Silvestri, Garth Ennis, and David Wohl, other noted writers, including Paul Jenkins, have also worked on the Darkness.

The comic's central theme is the power known as The Darkness, and its wielders. It is an ageless power dating back beyond human history. It is linked with the Angelus and the Witchblade. The Darkness is passed down a family line from father to son, leaving the previous user (and taking his life) as his first child is conceived. The power then manifests in the child on his 21st birthday. Darkness users can create anything they desire with the darkness, even sentient beings, but anything they make will crumble to dust at dawn. The Darkness powers are quite deadly: allowing the user to call forth darkling minions to aid them, and even survive gunshots. The power can also be used to maul and feed on people (think of it as a meaner Venom symbiote).

The Darkness powers do not function unless it is dark, but some users can also manipulate this by creating their own shadows/darkness e.g smoke grenades, being underground, turning off lights in a room, etc.

Invincible is a comic book created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Cory Walker, published monthly by Image Comics. It features the adventures of a young teenage superhero adjusting to his newfound powers, and having to cope with the reality of his origins. Invincible has powers similar to those of Superman, but his alter ego is closer to Peter Parker in terms of relationships and career. Invincible began as one of the debut titles in Image Comics' new superhero line that brought back traditional superheroics reminiscent of the Golden and Silver Ages of comics. After several months of attention from the comics media, Invincible became the most popular and best-selling title in the Image Comics line since Spawn. Wizard: The Comics Magazine has given it their coveted Book of the Month award for best monthly comic. Invincible has recently been picked-up by Paramount for a possible full length motion picture[1]. Invincible teamed up with Spider-Man in Marvel Team-Up #14 in November, 2005. While Robert Kirkman has been the sole writer of the series, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley have contibuted the art. Cory Walker co-created the book and provided art from #1 to #7. Ryan Ottley assumed art duties with issue #8 and has been pencilling since. Invincible has provided back-up space for a few aspiring comic creators, most notably Benito Cereno and Nate Bellegarde.

Origin is a six-issue comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics from November 2001 to July 2002, written by Bill Jemas, Joe Quesada and Paul Jenkins, and illustrated by Andy Kubert (pencils) and Richard Isanove (color).

Origin tells the story of the origin of the superhero Wolverine, best known as a member of the X-Men. Wolverine - ORIGINS:
Issues 1-11

Wolverine: Origins, written by Daniel Way (Punisher/Bullseye and Wolverine, with art by Steve Dillon (Preacher and Punisher) is a new ongoing series debuting on April 19, 2006. It will be spinning out of events of House of M, where Wolverine's wish to have his memories restored was fulfilled, and they stayed with him even following the end of that altered reality.

In the "Origins and Endings" arc in Wolverine #36-40, Wolverine began to confront people about these memories, and the United States and Canada eliminated all traces of information regarding Wolverine from their systems. He also learned of the creation of a mystic demon sword, the Muramasa Blade. This sword was created as a tribute to Wolverine and could even defeat Wolverine himself. At the end of the arc, he took back the sword and was told to "wield it like an angry God" in his quest for revenge.

Ja mogu da se pohvalim jednim Masamune Shirow paperback izdanjem u svojoj kolekciji, i naravno, megabajtima na cd-ovima... mada mi nikad nije nešto specijalno ležalo čitanje stripova na kompu...

Ja sam jedno vreme samo zbog citanja stripova bio ozbiljno napaljen da kupim tablet pc ne bi li koliko toliko simulirao citanje iz krila.

ProjectW i njihov Quality Comic thread su bili nenadjebivi ! Ali svi znamo kako je ovaj forum neslavno zavrsio...
Imas dosta stripova na kaskusu, i poprilicno solidan izbor na FileCathers forumu.

Postoji jos jedan forum specijalizovan za stripove , ali koliko me secanje sluzi clanovi su dolazili samo na preporuku i nije bila moguca slobodna registracija ...

The Sandman is a comic book series written by Neil Gaiman. Published in the United States by DC Comics for 75 issues from 1988 until 1996, it was one of the flagship titles of DC's Vertigo imprint, and is currently kept in print as a series of ten trade paperbacks. It is widely considered one of the most original, sophisticated and artistically ambitious comic book series of the modern age and is the only comic book to ever win the World Fantasy Award. By the time of the series' conclusion, it had made significant contributions to the artistic maturity of English language comic books and become a pop culture phenomenon in its own right.

Setting
The story-lines primarily take place in the Dreaming, Morpheus's realm, and the waking world, with occasional visits to other domains, such as Hell, Faerie, Asgard, and the domains of the other Endless. Many used the contemporary United States of America and the United Kingdom as a backdrop. The DC Universe was the official setting of the series, but well-known DC characters and places were rarely featured after 1990, with one exception: Lyta Hall, formerly Fury of the 80s super-team Infinity Inc., figures prominently in the "Kindly Ones" story arc. John Constantine and Doctor Destiny are also key characters in two of the early issues. And in the final volume, Superman, Batman, and the Martian Manhunter all have a very brief cameo.

Most of the storylines take place in modern times (presumably the late 1980s and early 1990s), but many short stories are set in the past, taking advantage of the immortal nature of many of the characters, and deal with historical individuals and events.

Protagonist
The protagonist of Sandman is Dream, the immortal anthropomorphic personification of dreams and story telling. He is known by an array of names, most often Morpheus, but also Oneiros, Lord Shaper, Lord Kai'ckul, Lord L'Zoril, the Prince of Stories, the Carrion King, and, rarely, "The Sandman." He is one of a family of seven siblings known as the Endless, each of whom personifies some aspect of reality, such as Death or Desire.

Comic books
The Sandman is one of the most widely respected English language comic book series of its time, finding recognition not only within the comic book industry but in the general literary world. It is generally ranked among such works as Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons's Watchmen, Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and Art Spiegelman's Maus in terms of critical acclaim and its conferring of respectability on comics. The Sandman supported the notion that comic books could be high-quality literature or art even in a long-running series.

Although The Sandman existed within the world of the superhero genre (DC characters — such as Doctor Destiny, the Justice League, and John Constantine — occasionally interacted with Morpheus, and characters like Green Lantern and Batman were seen in cameos), most of the main characters (save Lyta Hall and Daniel Hall) have no direct connections with it. Factual persons — such as William Shakespeare, Emperor Norton and Mark Twain — also made appearances. The first third of the series somewhat conformed to the horror genre, but it later grew into an elaborate fantasy series, incorporating elements of classical and contemporary mythology. The series is occasionally labeled as "Sophisticated Suspense", a small genre that also includes Swamp Thing (particularly after Alan Moore took over writing it in the 1980s), and Jamie Delano's Hellblazer.

The Sandman also demonstrated that non-superhero comic books could be successful. Along with Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing stories, Sandman helped establish "sophisticated suspense", a genre which is meant for older readers, includes elements of horror and fantasy, and tackles controversial topics. Sandman was one of the original Vertigo comics, an imprint which specialized in this genre and published some of the most acclaimed series of the 1990s, including Preacher and Animal Man.

The Sandman also strengthened the importance of the writer in comic books. Before Sandman, writers were often overshadowed by superstar artists such as Todd McFarlane and Jim Lee. Gaiman became one of the most popular comic book creators of the era (launching his career as a novelist).

The series paved the way for the long-form but finite comic book series as multi-layered serial fiction. Like a novel, and unlike all but a few prior comics series, The Sandman told a single complete story over seventy-five issues with a beginning, middle, and definitive end. Yet the book was also composed chiefly of a handful of story arcs that also moved from commencement to conclusion on a smaller scale, and these arcs consisted of individual issues of the magazine which themselves followed a finite narrative line within the context of the larger work surrounding them. Since The Sandman, this format has become increasingly popular and a staple of DC's Vertigo imprint, e.g., Grant Morrison's The Invisibles, Brian Vaughan's Y - The Last Man Vaughan's Ex Machina from DC's Wildstorm imprint, Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso's 100 Bullets, the aforementioned Preacher, James Robinson's Starman and the Lucifer series by Mike Carey, (a Sandman spin-off) have incorporated similar styles.

The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born is a seven-issue, comic book limited series, the first arc of a set of comic book series published by Marvel Comics, based on the The Dark Tower series of novels by Stephen King, who is overseeing the project. It is plotted by Robin Furth, dialogued by Peter David illustrated by Jae Lee and Richard Isanove.

The series was originally due to begin in April 2006, but was delayed for unspecified reasons.[3] The first issue of The Gunslinger Born was released at midnight on February 7, 2007,[4] and because of its connection with King, David, Lee, and Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada appeared at a midnight signing at a Times Square, New York comic book store to promote it.[5][6] There will be 7 total issues in this arc,[7] released in monthly installments.[3] The entire Dark Tower comic book series comprises four additional arcs of 6 issues for a total of 31 issues.[7]

Killy, a silent loner possessing an incredibly powerful weapon known as a Gravitational Beam Emitter, wanders a vast technological world known as "The City". He is searching for Net Terminal Genes, a (possibly) extinct genetic marker that allows humans access to the Netsphere. "The City" is an endless vertical space of walls, stairways and caverns, and separated in some kind of "floors" composed of several thousand of levels and divided by nearly-impenetrable structures known as "Megastructure" that separate entire floors or sections of "The City". "The City" is inhabited by scattered human and transhuman tribes as well as hostile cyborgs known as Silicon Creatures. The Net Terminal Genes appear to be the key to halting the unhindered, chaotic expansion of the Megastructure, as well as a way of stopping the murderous horde known as the Safeguard from destroying all humanity.

Along the way, Killy meets and joins forces with a resourceful engineer named Cibo and a tribe of human warriors called the Electro-Fishers. They are pursued by the Safeguard, who view any human without Net Terminal Genes as a threat to be extinguished on sight.

BERSERK

Najuspeshnija manga ikad. Josh uvek ide. Postoji anima ali je ostala nedovrshena. Iako je radnja pochela da se "razvodnjava" kraj nije ni na vidiku. Sve shto treba da znate o bedi, prijateljstvu, ljubavi, izdaji, osveti pa sve to ponovo u krug nalazi se u ovoj mangi.

Ja sam stigao do sedme epizode stripa. Mislio sam da je mini serija medjutim nije. To je serija koja ce jos ici. Ljudi koji su citali knjigu/e mogli bi bolje da ti objasne posto ocigledno ima jos knjiga osim ove "Great and secret show" koje se nastavljaju. Isti sluchaj je sa "Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born". Odlichna serija ali josh uvek ide a epizode se mnogo chekaju.
Probaj "Preacher" ako nisi chitao to je komplet zavrsheno.

Pricha pochinje sa jednim od klasichne badass grupe heroja koji popizdi i pobije predsednika i njegov kabinet, i sad dalji razvoj dogadjaja. Likovi su realno odradjeni, mslim, jesu superheroji, ali imaju ljudske osobine, umiru, nema onoga iskakanja iz aviona pre nego shto eksplodira i sl. Mozda ima josh epizoda, ali ovo je jedino shto sam nashao.

Louis Riel: A Comic-Strip Biography is a highly acclaimed comic book biography of the Métis rebel leader, Louis Riel, by Chester Brown and published by Drawn and Quarterly. Time Magazine included it in its annual Best Comix list in 2003.

The novel, drawn entirely using a six-panel grid, gives a somewhat sympathetic chronicling of Riel's resistance to the Canadian government's mistreatment of the Metis community, in both 1869-70 and 1885, which resulted in the Metis' military defeat, and Riel's trial and execution. Brown eschews defining exactly what Riel, the most debated figure in Canadian history, should mean to a contemporary audience. His ambivalence about Riel's status in Canadian history is revealed in the novel's very large appendix, which serves in part as a running commentary on the novel's action. In some instances, Brown wonders why he depicted certain scenes in the way he has, suggesting perhaps a postmodern approach to his subject, in that precise meaning is deliberately confused or left vague, thereby enjoining the audience to "fill in the gaps," as it were.

The story is set in a film noir environment, in the USA of the late 1950s. All the characters are anthropomorphic animals (female characters are often much more anthropomorphized), their specific species reflecting their personality and their part in the story. For example, nearly all the policemen are canid, usually German Shepherds, Bloodhounds, Foxes or Scottish Terriers.

The strip is made with a rather dirty-realist outlook, a dark cinematic style and fairly clean, realistic lines. Coupled with the truly lavish and time-consuming drawing, done in watercolor, the strip appears very realistic indeed despite using animals. The quality of the drawing has improved noticeably throughout the series, with sharper, higher-quality colour and less grainy lines in later issues.

Y - The Last Man

Prilično dobar strip, nema toliko razgranatu priču poput Sandmana, niti preterano ciničnu društvenu kritiku Transmeta, ni neku tešku filozofiju nekih francuskih stripova. Ali poseduje svaki od tih elemenata u savršenoj razmeri i sve to čini jednu prilično dobru celinu.

Yorick Brown, polu-gubitnik/escape artist, i njegov majmun &, su zadnji sisari muškog pola na planeti zemlji, na njemu je da spase svet, i u tome ga ometaju razne grupe lezbejki, militarnih fanatika, itd, itd...

Odličan strip, ostavlja isti ukus u umu poput nekog ozbiljnog "eye-openera" poput fight cluba ili donnie darka...

poslednju knjigu koju sam procitala je ,,Kad su cvetale tikve'' od Dragoslava Mihailovica koja mi je trebala za lektiru...Sooper mi je knjga pa ko moze neka je procita...

Prelepa knjiga, jedina lektira koja je po meni nesto vredela u srednjoj skoli....

Ja vam preporucujem da procitate Andjeli i Demoni, dok nije izasao film... Pretpostavljam da smo svi prvo gledali film DaVincijev kod, pa citali knjigu, sto i nije neki dozivljaj...
Ovo je prva knjiga Dena Brauna (tvorca DaVincijevog koda), pa ako vam se svideo DaVincijev kod, ovo je mnogo bolje...
Uskoro izlazi i film, pa bi bilo super da prvo procitate knjigu, pa da upotpunite dozivljaj filmom...

Prošlo je sto četiri godine od objavljivanja „Protokola sionskih mudraca” (napisani su 1902. ili 1904), apokrifnog dokumenta o navodnoj zaveri Jevreja da „preuzmu vlast nad čitavim svetom”. Nepobitno je,međutim, dokazano da su „Protokoli...” delo Ohrane, tajne policije carske Rusije, koja je želela da uspori reforme ruskog cara Nikolaja insinuacijama da se u njima može otkriti „zavera” Jevreja.

Autor „Protokola sionskih mudraca” je Matje Golovinski (ovaj podatak dokazao je u francuskom listu „Ekspres” 1999. istoričar Mihail Lepehin)... ponuđena mu je i osnova za nju – pamflet iz 1864, „Dijalog u paklu između Makijavelija i Monteskjea”, francuskog satiričara i protivnika Napoleona Trećeg - Morisa Žolija u kojem ovaj tvrdi da francuski car ima tajni plan da „sruši sve države i postane vrhovni gospodar”.

Golovinski je preuzeo 40 odsto Žolijevog teksta, sugerišući da su „Protokoli…” zbirka navodnih zapisnika sa tajnih sastanaka „sionskih mudraca” za vreme Prvog cionističkog kongresa koji je 1897. održan u Bazelu. Potom je ovaj apokrif iz Francuske doturen Raspućinovom suparniku i religioznom mistiku Sergiju Nilusu u Moskvu, a on ih je, opterećen pričama o zaveri protiv cara, oberučke prihvatio i 1905. objavio kao dodatak drugom izdanju svoje knjige „Veliko u malom, ili Antihrist ... posmatran kao skora politička budućnost”...

Afera se stišala, ali ih je iz Rusije u Evropu (prvo u Nemačku,odakle su se proširili po svetu) doneo 1918. Rus Ravel Alfred Rozenberg, kasnije relativno blizak Hitlerov saradnik. Hitler je bio oduševljen njima i spominje ih u „Majn kampfu”.

Iako je 1922. godine dopisnik londonskog „Tajmsa” iz Konstantinopolja Filip Grejvs dokazao svojim tekstovima da su „Protokoli sionskih mudraca” istorijska prevara, dovoljna je bila Hitlerova oduševljenost da otpočne genocid nad Jevrejima…

...Crtež Vila Ajznera i precizni tekst upravo onih trenutaka u kojima su donošene presudne odluke o nastanku i daljem distribuiranju ovog sramnog delu protiv jednog naroda opominjuće pričaju o lažima koje i danas neodgovorni ljudi rasturaju, paleći opake požare zla koje je teško zaustaviti. „Zavera. Tajna priča o Protokolimasionskih mudraca” je knjiga koja proziva savest i poziva na budnost svakog pojedinca u celome svetu čije krhko postojanje ovakva mržnja može da zauvek uništi."
